Computer Based Training week1

According to experts, the teaching techniques that are best suited for my learning style are ones associated with visuals and kinesthetic.

Based on personal experience I have learned that the most effective learning techniques that have worked for me have been a combination of visual and kinesthetic learning. When I combine the three types of learning visual, auditory, and kinesthetic I find that my mind works more efficiently to store information and recall it later.

I feel that a CBT can effectively teach people with a variety of learning styles because it is more efficient. Knowing how to use your primary learning style to your advantage will save you time in the long run.

12 tips for interace design

http://uxdesign.smashingmagazine.com/2009/01/19/12-useful-techniques-for-good-user-interface-design-in-web-applications/

I think the best tip for interface design is to standardize everything but still add customization.  If you keep things standardized then it will be easier for them to navigate through your project. But if you can balance a good amount standardization and customization it will please people.

The other point they make that really good is to keep sign up forms short and sweat. If you ask to much of people then it will scare them away. Just like the entire site you have to keep people satisfied or they will want to leave.

Site Architecture And Navigation Through Research

It would make sense that architectures are good web designers. I think that two of the most important parts of web design is navigation and appearance. These can directly correlate with architecture because when designing a building you want it to look good but you want it to be easy to travel through and efficient.
When people go to a website they make up their mind on if they are going to stay or leave withing seconds, and if they cant find the path they are looking for they are often inclined to leave in frustration.
When you see a building you first see the appearance or the outer shell of the place. But after when you go inside it is a complex system of rooms and hallways, bathrooms, elevators, stairs and ways to travel through he building and get to different destinations within the building. Similar to web design with the rooms being different pages. hallways and elevators are like pathways and navigation links.
There are many correlation between the two design elements making for an easy transition between the two designers. No it doesn't surprise me that architect are good web designers.

Future

I cant even watch this entire video without getting upset that I dont have it. Some people say I was born in the wrong time, too late. That they should have been around in the 60's or 70's for Woodstock and hippies. I say that I was born to early. This future is looking more and more realistic, in 50 years this is most likely how it will be.
The ability to share information witlessly is becoming more important everyday. Not just because it makes things easier for users but it because if you don't have it that way it frustrates them, and pushes them away. People are expecting thees things more all the times. The phones and ipads on the table are a great way to share information. that could be used to help in brainstorming meetings.

Interaction design digital interface

With the older generation of humans fading out the design concepts of tomorrow will soon be here. Software interaction caters to accessibility and basically not confusing people, older people. But us web savoy generation of users don't need some of thous hints and tells to how to use things. What direction will this lead us in? One example is roll overs on buttons, there to mainly to tell the user that yes, you are about to click a button. But isn't this obvious to most of us? The general shape of interfaces will evolve as society grows more comfortable and more important more familiar with interaction.

Reflective & Visceral behavior

Our behavior can be impacted by previous events in our lives.
For me I was young and a fear was instilled in me forever. I lived in Seattle, and the rain there was heavy. I was driving across this bridge with my family when a storm struck. This particular bride floated atop the lake. When the storm hit the bridge over flowed with water, leaving our car half way submerged. When the fireman took me out of my car seat they had to tread through waist high water to save me. From that day I have always hated travailing on bridges.
This fear stayed with my my entire life and is a good example of Reflective & Visceral behavior.
